Updated Entry/Exit Requirements
Zimbabwe’s borders are closed to non-residents.
The Zimbabwean government has confirmed that U.S. citizens, including dual nationals, are allowed to exit Zimbabwe.
Please check with your airline carrier before flying to confirm any additional requirements.
Quarantine
All residents returning to Zimbabwe are subject to a 21-day quarantine period at a government-approved facility, though in practice, the government has been releasing people from quarantine centers after eight days if they test negative for COVID-19 at that time. Those released after eight days are still expected to self-isolate for the remainder of the 21 days.
Several private facilities have been approved by the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health for those seeking an alternative to the government facilities. The Ministry of Health has not released a full list of approved private facilities. However, it is possible to make bookings online through the ZINCAT website. Individuals will be responsible for paying all the expenses associated with private facilities, including transit from the airport, lodging costs, and COVID 19 testing fees.
Finally, please note your travel document or identity document may be retained by the authorities for the duration of the 21-day quarantine period.
