PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Public Diplomacy (PD) section of the U.S. Embassy Zimbabwe under the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for programs that strengthen women’s leadership skills and potential while also building connections with U.S. women in leadership positions. The PD section invites proposals from non-profit organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and U.S. government alumni organizations to design and implement a leadership program that increases the skills, network and confidence of participants. The program should expand opportunities to develop capacity in leadership styles, teambuilding, presentations, conflict management, among others.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Public Diplomacy Section at the U.S. Embassy in Zimbabwe announces an open competition for organizations to implement the YALI Mandela Washington Fellowship (MWF) Pre-Fellowship Orientation logistics and a return conference for the 2024 MWF Cohort. Grantee will help the Embassy organize the orientation venue, travel logistics for fellows outside of Harare, pay honorarium for some guest speakers, and collaborate with the embassy to develop the schedules and arrange the speakers. Past programs have been arranged for 40-45 participants with three to five outside speakers for the pre-fellowship orientation and post-fellowship conference.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The United States Embassy in Zimbabwe announces an open competition for creative, sustainable and engaging projects that foster open and transparent dialogues on how emerging technologies can support Zimbabwe’s development and international partnerships. The programs should support principles that foster safe and security network infrastructures as well as promote digital rights. Projects funded under this call will use dialogues, advocacy, engagement, research, policy analysis, capacity development, and/or network building to promote the use of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, augmented and virtual reality. The projects can be in any sector- education, agriculture, medical and financial technologies. The program should promote discussions and understanding of open, interoperable, secure, and reliable information and communications technology infrastructure and services with the inclusion, in part, of U.S. experts, curricula, or other resources.

The Public Diplomacy Section invites proposals from non-profit organizations, civil society organizations, incubators, tech hubs, and U.S. government alumni organizations to design and implement an entrepreneurial program for women entrepreneurs to develop the skills, capabilities, and resources to fully participate in the private sector.

Priority Region: Zimbabwe (all 10 provinces)
Program Objectives:
The Ambassador’s Special Self-Help (SSH) Program through the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) awards grants to registered non-governmental, non-profit, community-based organizations to implement short-term (12-month), small-scale (between $15,000 and $20,000) development projects that include significant community involvement.
Priority consideration is given to income generating projects with a health component that improve basic economic or social conditions at the village level.
Project activities and spending should be completed within 12 months with an anticipated start date between September 1 and September 30, 2023, depending on when funding is made available.
The SSH Program receives hundreds of applications for funding each year. All submissions are reviewed in a competitive and transparent manner. However, given the limited funding available through the SSH Program, we can only fund a small number of projects each year.
