Martin Luther King Jr.’s day of service

“What are you doing for others today?” is what Martin Luther King Jr. believed to be life’s most urgent question. In the U.S., the third Monday of every January has been a federal holiday to honor King since 1986. In 1994, the day was designated as a national day of service in the spirit of his commitment to working together for a better tomorrow.
