Harare, November 28, 2016: A long time U.S. partner in the fight against the spread of HIV, Jibilika Dance Trust, is hosting a special dance class to mark World AIDS Day with a series of dance classes for its youth audience. The first event will be held on Wednesday November 30th at its Jibilika Dance Academy at Batanai Mall, Harare and will be strictly for girls (#Strictly4Girls) with visiting Samantha Werner (Ohio, US). The event is supported by Wikipedia Zimbabwe and Girl Child Creativity Project at Batanai Gardens.
Another event is scheduled for World AIDS Day (Thursday December 1). In a statement, Jibilika Dance Trust said the event will “amplify the message on HIV/AIDS to young people who are more vulnerable by using the voice of known personalities as part of our concerted effort towards an HIV Free generation.”
The U.S., with funding from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has supported Jibilika’s “Step Up 2 HIV initiative” targeted at disseminating HIV/ AIDS awareness messages to young people through dance and music.
The class will be a fun and exciting session featuring at least 40 confirmed celebrities and stars in the arts, media and business, said the organisers of the event. Some of the confirmed stars include: Chamu Chiwanza, Tammy, Boss Kedha, Probeatz, Ras Caleb, Trevor Dongo, Prayersoul, Vera, Sokostina, Rumbi Moyo (Power fm) , Candice (Zifm), Skimbo and many more.- ZimPAS © November 28, 2016.
